This PHLY clip is making the rounds:
“…we played good enough to win the game. We make it to the next week. I can say that the Falcons in 2017, that game we didn’t play as good as we needed to, but we found a way to win. They don’t care then! People don’t care then because it’s playoffs. As long as we got the win. But during the week, during the season, boy, every week it’s ‘ah but the Eagles passing game, or the running game…’ When I hear people like that, like what’s his name? Spike. That boy don’t know, that boy just be, he angry, you know what I’m saying? We ain’t gonna say the station name but you know what I mean. You can’t please nobody, so don’t try to.”
Sounded like B.G. wanted to say “that boy don’t know shit,” but stopped himself. Would have been funnier, but still.
This made me laugh because BG had a WIP Monday night show and did hits on every daypart. He knows who Spike Eskin is. But one of the most commonly disrespectful things you can do is pretend that you don’t know somebody’s name. It’s like the Conor McGregor video clip. Who the fuck is that guy? It works every time.
You can use context clues to follow what B.G. is saying in this video clip. The Eagles win a game but some fans are unhappy, this particular week, because the offense didn’t look amazing. It’s a fair gripe, but we’ve talked ad nauseam about people going Negadelphia after a win. The Birds could win 150 to 3 and some people would choose to complain about the field goal they gave up.
WIP has done this plenty over the years, but I’m not sure about this week specifically, because I stopped listening. I took WIP off the presets in my truck and haven’t listened in 4-5 months.
