Brandon Graham Thought Kellen Moore Could Replace Nick Sirianni After the Super Bowl Win

Everything is going wrong for the Eagles. After a 25-14 loss to the Panthers on Sunday, in which every facet of the team looked pretty much like dog shit, there’s plenty of blame to go around — with Nick Sirianni sitting at the top of the list. Not that that’s anything new. Just about everyone’s been weighing in on the head coach’s sub-par performance in 2026 over the last few weeks, and Brandon Graham added his opinion to the mix:
BG on the offensive struggles throughout the Sirianni era: “I love Nick, but I can see the writing on the wall if things don’t go well this year.” https://t.co/1ZZxCwF7bI

GRAHAM: “It sucks because, I love Nick, but I just can see the writing on the wall if things don’t get — go good this year. But it’s like, who do you replace him with?… The wave now is to get these coordinators as head coaches, and it’s just, Nick – with him being relieved of his duties of calling plays, I mean, man, it’s just… I thought when we won the Super Bowl, that it was gonna be something crazy happening with what’s his name taking over, and he took the Saints. Um, Keller. Kellen (Moore).
QUESTION: “You thought there was a chance he was gonna be the head coach?“
GRAHAM: “I’m just sayin’. Like you know, it be – how I look at it, for what I’ve done seen, when you got guys that’s on the bubble, that’s in the hot, you bring people in that’s in there to, just in case stuff don’t work out, this is gonna be the guy right here.”
Is it me, or does BG basically admit that the Eagles planned on replacing Nick with Kellen Moore in 2024? That’s how it feels, doesn’t it? Where else would BG get this idea? I feel like the Kellen-Nick switch must’ve been talked about a bunch inside the organization for him to have this theory. Or maybe not. (Kinkead: BG was probably listening to too much WIP) Maybe BG cooked this up on his own. That’s possible. Maybe he — and the rest of the players — saw that Nick didn’t contribute to play-calling at all, and figured that since Kellen Moore was so good at it, he’d be an easy replacement for Nick if things went sideways.
Whatever the case may be, it seems like the Eagles winning the Super Bowl in 2024 derailed that plan. Firing Nick after a Super Bowl win would’ve been nearly impossible (but it would’ve been baller as hell… bold move… scared money don’t make money, etc…), and Kellen was bound to move on to a head coaching job after his stellar season calling plays. But still, it’s a fascinating sliding doors moment.
And BG did say he thought it could still happen after the Super Bowl win. Maybe there was more of a chance than I’m giving it credit for. What an interesting thing to think about. What if the Eagles moved on from Nick when they had a proven, capable, creative offensive coordinator in their building ready to replace him? Where would the Birds be now? My gut says they’d be better. It’d have to be. Imagine a world where Nick is not the head coach of the Eagles right now. Sounds nice.
