B.G. in New Orleans?

Graham was asked about this earlier in the week and didn’t reveal much. He was injured back on November 24th, a game in which he wrecked shop and looked like the terror we saw back in 2017. He suffered a torn triceps in that game and was ruled out for the season.

But – the Eagles kept winning. And winning. And now it’s January 30th and by the time the Super Bowl is finally played, it will have been almost 11 full weeks that he’s been able to recover.

What’s interesting is to think about how the EDGE group has evolved over the year. We had serious questions about Graham, Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith, Bryce Huff, and Jalyx Hunt coming out of the first few games. Huff looked like a rare Howie Roseman miss and Smith was off to a slow start in his sophomore year. Hunt was a rookie and there was a point where 36-year-old B.G. and Sweat were the only guys you felt truly comfortable with. But the unit started to pick it up during the win streak, and you look now to the playoffs where Smith has more sacks than anyone else in the NFL. Hunt has made a few plays here and there and not a single fan has expressed any kind of legitimate worry about the edge rushers in what feels like months. It also helps that Jalen Carter and company have been beastly on the interior, so you wonder how much of the pressure even needs to come from the edge when that Carter/Jordan Davis/Milton Williams group is as good as it is.

Of course, is Graham is healthy, he should play. He was really good up until the injury, and he just so happens to have made the biggest Super Bowl play in Eagles history. Rotate him in there with Sweat and Smith and let him pin his ears back.
