Washington is paying the full $28 million due to Carson Wentz this year, which includes a $5 million roster bonus due next week.
From now on, it’s Commander Carson.

I have so many thoughts going through my head right now. First, Philadelphia sports media (us included) just got a gold mine of cheap clicks dropped right on top of our head. All I gotta do is write that Carson Wentz farted today and 20,000 people will read it. The Wentz topic was insane and obsessive even after he left Philly. People can’t stand the guy but love to talk about him.
Now he’s a Warshington Commander? Holy cow. The angles are numerous and incredible. Will he seek REVENGE on Philly? How loud will he be booed at Lincoln Financial Field? Will this be a Donovan McNabb 2.0 type of move, aka guy is washed?
Incredible.
Wentz didn’t even last a year in Indy. I’m on record saying all of the dunking on the dude is getting old, but it doesn’t mean he’s some amazing guy. He is an average dude and middle-of-the-pack QB. He threw 27 touchdowns last year on a run-first team. There’s still a semblance of a franchise QB in there somwhere.
Congratulations, everyone. Wentz is back in the NFC East. We have pageviews for days. 94 WIP has set its entire programming schedule. The stories are going to write themselves.
More fun for the NFL schedule maker…. pic.twitter.com/6fjhbFeIJA

EDIT – yes I know, I screwed it up. It’s DEFCON 1, not DEFCON 5. It’s been a long day. Sue me.
