Rap Sheet on a Friday morning:

Tennessee put in the request earlier, but doing the actual interview is a slight update, so if we’re keeping track here, Johnson will have interviewed with the Panthers, Falcons, and Titans.

Putting the Rooney Rule speculation off to the side, it does make you think about perception of the Eagles from elsewhere in the NFL. Maybe other organizations see a guy with potential in Brian Johnson. It’s funny though, because one (rather large) segment of the Birds’ fan base would be thrilled with Johnson going somewhere else, another segment believes he may have been hamstrung by Nick Sirianni, and a third segment would be fine with both guys taking a hike. It’s hard to make any kind of discernible read on how much of the offensive failure was due in part to Johnson’s play calling and how much was Sirianni’s scheme and/or meddling.

All I know is that whomever was calling those bubble screens should never coach in the NFL again. If the Titans ask about perimeter screens, Brian Johnson should do two things – get a lawyer and lie. He should distance himself like Bill Clinton distanced himself from Monica Lewinski.

“I want to say one thing to Tennessee Titans, and I want you to listen to me. I’m gonna say this again. I did not call those perimeter screens. I never told anybody to call those screens. Not a single time. Never. These allegations are false, and I need to go back to work for the American people.”
