Carson Wentz Subtly Throwing Shade at Sam Bradford is Sort of Badass

Do you study Sam Bradford?

“Obviously I know he was a top pick and everything. Obviously I know he was with the Rams and everything. But I haven’t watched a ton of film on him. I watch film on guys like Brady and Manning and Rodgers and those types of things.”

Translation: No, why would I do that?

I like it.

Wentz is supremely confident. He displays a subtle cockiness you don’t expect from an aw-shucks kid. He’s not arrogant, but in interviews he never seems to doubt his ability even a little bit.

He’s been given multiple chances to compliment or show deference to Bradford, and yet he hasn’t done so. No this is his team, Sam’s a great quarterback, or I’ve always looked up to him. Nope. Nothing like that. Just vanilla answers about competing and letting things shake out. Because I think he knows it’s his job.
