Colts GM Says Team is “Exploring Lots of Options” at QB Position

Chris Ballard is the Colts’ General Manager.
He went on local Indy sports talk radio with Dan Dakich today, and here’s a nugget about the Eagles and Carson Wentz:
Chris Ballard is joining @dandakich right now. Thread to follow.
On the QB/Wentz chatter: “We are exploring lots of options…I can tell you this, there’s no trade going down today.”

Hmm… well he didn’t RULE OUT a Carson Wentz trade, so you never know. The Wentz/Frank Reich reunion storyline remains a possibility. It could conceivably happen at some point in the near future.
In Kevin Bowen’s Twitter thread, Ballard also confirms that Andrew Luck is retired, and there is no chance he comes back. Those rumors are officially squashed.
Here’s another Wentz nugget:
Lots of Carson Wentz talk here in Tampa. 2 team executives told me #Eagles should get at least a first-round pick for him. Neither thinks they could get two 1s. One says a 1 outside top 5. Other says a 1 in 2nd half of 1st round. Biggest question is will the Eagles do it.

Wentz for a first rounder? Why the hell not? Then you trade Jalen Hurts for a second rounder, draft a quarterback at #6 overall, and we are restocked and ready to rock.
The Eagles should #DoTheDeal.
