Jerry Jones is the gift that keeps on giving:
Jerry Jones said they are going to have to diminish the supporting cast around Dak Prescott.

Imagine Howie Roseman admitting this out loud. Sorry Jalen. We messed up the cap again. Maybe I can get you a running back off the scrap heap and a tackle for your blindside when cuts are made. Other than that you’re on your own.
The Cowboys are in cap hell right now, but it’s not their fault. Who could have foreseen the need to extend your QB, best wide receiver, and defensive player all at the same time? Definitely the guy who knows better than anyone where the cap will be in the future:
“If you’re asking me do I worry about things going up? Not worry, but I probably have as good a feel as anybody living on this earth what the cap is going to be three years from now, four years from now, five years from now,” Jones said. “I really do. We’ve got exceptional insight into where the cap is going to be more so than a lot of people.”
We’re in bizarro world Dallas Cowboys land right now where they aren’t just throwing money at anyone and still finding themselves strapped for cash. Even for deals that make sense like the one future Hall of Fame tackle Tyron Smith signed. Smith’s deal is for one year, $20 million with the Jets, but only $6.5 million of that would be guaranteed. Too rich for Jerry’s blood via David Moore at the Dallas Morning News:
“You know how highly he is thought of by us. We can’t afford that. We can’t afford that,” Jones said. “If he makes all of these incentives and things like that, we would really be wrecked.”
Those damn incentives and things. Are the Cowboys poor? Did the oil money dry up? Or will this guy just never learn from his own mistakes:
