D’Andre Swift Reportedly Fined for Playing Football

According to the Inquirer’s Josh Tolentino, D’Andre Swift was fined a little less than $10,000 for “unnecessary roughness” on this sequence:

Fined for playing football!

I guess they got him for lowering the helmet. It was all the rage a couple of years ago, when the rule was introduced, then it stopped being flagged all the time. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time someone was flagged in an Eagles game explicitly for lowering the dome. That said, when they installed the rule, it was applicable to both offensive AND defensive players, so leading with the helmet while carrying the ball was a punishable offense and remains so in 2023.
