Darius Slay was claimed off of waivers by the Bills after being cut by the Steelers. The only problem is that Slay doesn’t want to play for the Bills. He’ll even make up a story that he’s contemplating retirement to do that:

“Slay is honored that a first-class organization like the Bills claimed him, but he is going to take some time away from football right now and decide in the next few days if he wants to keep playing,” Slay’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.

Blah. Blah. Blah. The worst-kept secret in the NFL is that Slay and his wife want to come back to Philly:

The Eagles put in a waiver claim according to Ian Rapoport.

Will the Bills back off and let Slay return to the Linc, or will another team like the Cowboys block him if they were to release him? Who knows? I think a fake retirement is a genius way to get what you want though. He’s got the upper hand right now. Sure, the Bills could call his bluff, but are they really going to get in a messy situation with a 35-year-old DB on a swan song? We’re not talking about Eli Manning holding the Chargers hostage now. Let the guy go on a retirement tour for the team he won a Super Bowl with! Do the right thing, Buffalo! Remember when Chip Kelly handed you LeSean McCoy for nothing? It’s time to pay us back!

P.S. Imagine if Slay gets his way. December 28th in Buffalo will be interesting. Watch out for the dildos, Slay!
