Doug Pederson Didn’t Give Us Much of an Injury Update

Doug Pederson spoke a short time ago at his day-after press conference.

And… surprise!

He didn’t have much to say about the myriad injuries that the Eagles suffered Sunday. As of noon, he still had not had his medical meeting, because the team got back at four in the morning.

Not like Pederson would tell us much anyway, but for what it’s worth, we got this from Tim McManus today:

DeSean Jackson was at the practice facility today, walking OK. Told he had an MRI this morning. Doesn’t appear to be a long-term injury.

Good to know! Nothing on Alshon Jeffery or Dallas Goedert, at least not that I’ve seen. Here are some notes from Doug’s presser:

• Dallas Goedert “felt something” pregame and was held out entirely.
• It’s “hard to say” whether DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery would have played if last night was a playoff game.
• Goedert’s injury is the same calf he was having trouble with in training camp.
• The Eagles planned heavily for two-tight end, 12 personnel sets in this game, a lot of which had to be scratched off the play sheet when Goedert went down.
• Pederson said it was “out of his control” RE: the timing between officials and a spotter noticing possible concussion symptoms with Carson Wentz (Wentz expressed frustration that officials had him come off the field at the beginning of a drive).
• He’s still confident in Miles Sanders, who “missed some things… missed a couple of holes” last night.
• Atlanta’s front was active last night, Grady Jarrett did a good job getting off the ball, sometimes the Eagles offensive line was set too wide.
• He talked to Nelson Agholor after the game. “Thought he played really well, basically two spots yesterday, having to move around.. just shows his mental capacity with the offense and where he is…. I could him after the game one play is not going to define him or his season.”
• On the second interception, the routes were fine, no miscommunication there, Carson Wentz just didn’t get enough on the ball.

That’s about it. Nothing groundbreaking. Keep an eye out for those Schefter and Rapoport tweets.
