Eagles Make Jalen Carter the Highest-Paid Defensive Tackle in NFL History

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing two-time Pro Bowl selection Jalen Carter to a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, agents Drew Rosenhaus and Jason Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The deal, which includes $106 million guaranteed, makes Carter the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history based on the contract’s $38 million average annual value.
It’s money well spent!
Jalen Carter is worth every dollar, even if he has the occasional bonehead sequence, like spitting at Dak Prescott. His play in the fourth quarter of the LA Rams snow bowl pretty much singlehandedly won that game, and put the Eagles into the 2025 NFC Championship Game, where they proceeded to blow out the Commanders and Chiefs in back-to-back games to win it all.
There was a little bit of Carter trade chatter out there the past six months. For who? For what? Because it was draggin? Howie Roseman always starts in the trenches and builds outwards. You lock up guys like Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Landon Dickerson, and Jordan Mailata. Then you go from there.
By the way, the Eagles will look a lot more like the 2024 version of themselves this season. The O line will be healthy and the Super Bowl hangover will be long gone. These guys are gonna come back fresh and ready to pound the rock. You heard it here first.
