Eagles News and Notes from the Christmas Holiday
By Russ Joy
Published:

While many were stuffing their faces with ham and turkey, getting shouted at about “getting off your phone and living in the moment”, and finding themselves stuck in a 24-hour loop of “A Christmas Story” – an overrated movie, perhaps the most overrated Christmas movie of all-time – we here at Crossing Broad were working around the clock to gather all pertinent information to keep you informed. With that said, here’s what you might have missed:

Doug’s Swag is back
Not that he needed to but Doug Pederson “may” have reached out to his buddy Matt Nagy for some help. People need not hand-wring. #DaBears always want to beat #Skol.

“I would play to win. If I could improve my position? I’d play to win.”
Doug Pederson says if he were in the position like the Bears or Rams, he’d fight for that No. 2 spot in the NFC.
Joked he may have already called Matt Nagy for some help 😂 @FOX29philly pic.twitter.com/ppEuaJjjJT

Doug’s in Vikings’ HC Mike Zimmer’s head
Mike Zimmer responds to this: "I don’t care who he called. I really don’t. I didn’t hear that. But I don’t care who Doug calls or who anybody calls." https://t.co/uQoOsDSBTM

Doug Pederson on Jordan Hicks, his impending free agency, and his role increasing in Week 17
“Well I think right now we’re focused on the Redskins and I’ll worry about the roster in the spring when I get to the spring,” Pederson said. “Jordan’s been a big part of our success here and he helped us win the game last week and he’ll help us win another on Sunday.”
“He eased in,” Pederson said. “That was the plan going into last week, it’s hard to put a player and give him the full compliment right away because of training and rehab. What he was given he did well.”
Eagles are obviously still focused on this season, but Jordan Hicks sets up to be one of the most intriguing offseason questions. He's a 26-year-old, high-level player and leader at a position that the Eagles lack depth. He's also missed 21 games in his career and is a free agent

Extra Point: I wrote earlier this week that the Eagles should bring in DJ Swearinger if he were to fall to them on waivers or clear outright. Unfortunately, he was claimed by his former team the Arizona Cardinals.
Former #Redskins S DJ Swearinger posts that he’s been claimed by one of his former teams, the #AZCardinals. Headed back after two years away. They have first priority for claims.https://t.co/VjD6TdGFN8 pic.twitter.com/q02MFThxAO
