The notable names here are Uar Bernard and Joshua Weru, who were waived on Sunday and available to be picked up by another team. Fans had grown pretty attached to the two International Player Pathway prospects and worried they wouldn’t clear — but here we are now, with the two guys back on the practice squad. Turns out there was nothing to worry about there.
I gotta say, I am slightly surprised that neither guy was claimed on Monday afternoon. Maybe it’s because I’m spending most of my time in the echo chamber of Philly Sports Internet, but didn’t it feel like both were getting a ton of buzz as sick athletes/interesting projects? A lot of the talk out of training camp was how much of an athletic freak Bernard is, and Weru looked awesome in the preseason:
With both of these guys’ work ethics and pure, raw tools, I’d have figured at least one other team would take a flyer on them. But I am glad to be wrong, and Howie seems glad to have them back:
