Eagles Reportedly Restructuring Darius Slay’s Contract

Say what you will about Howie Roseman as a talent evaluator, but he’s a pretty good cap guy, and will find ways to move money and fit the puzzle pieces together.
He’s been the architect of numerous restructurings over the years, and it looks like the Birds are going down that path yet again:
The #Eagles have some cap work to do, and that focus has begun: They just restructured CB Darius Slay’s contract to create $9.14M in salary cap room, source said.

In addition, Derrick Gunn reported earlier this week that the Eagles would be doing the same thing with Brandon Graham, who hits the cap at $18 million this season and has a handful of voided years that provide prorated bonus money, according to Over the Cap. He can be a free agent in 2022.
RE: Slay, he signed a three year, $50 million extension following his trade from Detroit. He was entering this season with a $15.7 million cap hit, and I’d assume they’re doing the same thing with him as they did these other guys, which is just stretching his money over multiple years.
According to the NFL Network, the Eagles are $43 million over the projected, so expect a lot more of this. More restructures and more cuts. League-wide, expect a bloodbath.
