Today is a difficult day in the NFL.

It’s cut day, and the Cowboys released quarterback Ben DiNucci:

DiNucci will go down in history as a Cowboy legend. One of the best to ever wear the uniform.

He started one game for Dallas last season, which was against the Eagles, and went 21-40 for 180 yards. That’s an excellent 52.5 completion percentage and 4.5 yards per pass average. He did not throw a touchdown or an interception, but was sacked four times and lost two fumbles. The Birds, believe it or not, were fucking losing at halftime, but rallied to win it 23-9.

What a game that was. I still have it saved on my DVR and watch it every so often (when it’s not on ESPN classic).

But let’s pour one out for Ben DiNucci. He’s a Dallas Cowboy, yeah, but you have to show these rival players respect when their careers come to an end. Guys like Chipper Jones, Henrik Lundqvist, and now Ben DiNucci.
