Let’s get it back to the Eagles with some words from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who was on the Fanatic Tuesday morning:

Yeah? Well maybe if “everybody on the staff” helped Brian Johnson call one single play to beat the blitz, then the offensive coordinator would still be here. And anybody who had anything to do with the bubble screens should be learning how to code.

When you start 10-1 and finish 11-6, somebody’s gotta go. Somebody’s gotta be the scapegoat, whether they deserve it or not. That’s Brian Johnson and Sean Desai in 2024.

It’s pretty obvious what happened here, right? We’re all in agreement that Nick Sirianni was given a lifeline, but in order to keep his job, he had to do what Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman told him, which is fire his coordinators. Is there anyone out there who does not believe this was the case? And would you do the same thing in Nick’s situation? If my boss came to me and said that I need to fire Pagan or else, then either I’m turning in my resignation or Kyle’s ass is learning Chinese faster than you can say “man on the street.” Those are my only choices.

The NFL is a cut-throat league. One minute, you’re three points from winning the Super Bowl. Next thing you know, you’re looking for a job. That’s how these things go.
