Great News: Only One Injury Designation for the Eagles as Training Camp Begins

Howie Roseman spoke to the assembled scribes to kick off training camp:
“Morning, we’ll start off with, we have one player with a designation. Nakobe Dean will start camp on PUP. He’s doing a great job with his rehab and can’t wait to get him back. Other than that, everyone else will be on the field… full attendance.”
The biggest day one takeaway is that first round draft pick Jihaad Campbell is out there and practicing.
Back in June, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio predicted this:
“He won’t hit the practice field until sometime in August. We’re doing all we can. He’s doing all he can in meetings and we’re doing all we can with him on the field. I take him to the side and do an individual drill with him, which is suited to what he can do right now. He’s working good and trying to pick it up.“
So this is a nice development. Unexpected. Campbell appears to be ahead of schedule and starts camp with no designation. He suffered a torn labrum in 2024, towards the end of the Alabama season, and had surgery to fix it. But the beats are sharing video showing him as what appears to be a full participant, while fellow linebacker Nakobe Dean is the only guy on the physically unable to perform list:
Looks great to me! He’s ready! Can’t wait to see Jihaad Campbell squash KaVontae Turpin like a bug on Thursday Night Football.
