Hell Yeah: Lane Johnson Was Back at Camp Today After Missing a Week For Personal Reasons

The tweet from Mike Garafolo:
Now this is some good news. Hell yeah. Lane practiced last Thursday, then missed the next four days of camp for non-injury reasons. There has been no news available about why he missed the time, which was as least a little concerning for Birds fans. Not knowing what’s going is never a good feeling, especially when we’re talking about an All-Pro tackle the new-look offense is going to depend on.
There’s also the fact that the Eagles have a new offensive line coach whose system needs to be learned after the departure of Jeff Stoutland — the only position coach Johnson’s ever played for in his 13-year career. Gotta think spending as much time together on the field and gelling with Chris Kuper’s way of doing things is going to be crucial for this offensive line. The season’s quickly approaching. Time is of the essence.
But at the same time… Lane’s a veteran. It’s nothing new for a player of his status to skip a week of early August practice. If you have the clout to do it, you gotta do it. It’s a good move. Too hot out there. Humid. Mosquitos. Sweat in your eyes. Maybe he was on vacation. Maybe he went to the beach. Or maybe he was just sitting in his house, doing nothing, enjoying the peace and quiet and air conditioning. Maybe he’s rewatching Mad Men.
I would be fine with any and all of that. Lane’s earned it. I can’t blame him. I’m rewatching Mad Men as well. Great rewatch. Maybe the best TV rewatch there is. And Lane’s back now, so it’s all good. He blasted right through Mad Men. No harm, no foul. Hell yeah.
