The Las Vegas Raiders released Henry Ruggs after a car crash that killed a 23-year-old woman earlier this week.

He’s accused of driving drunk and was reportedly moving at an insane speed before the collision.

Details from David Charns, at KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas:

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, 22, was traveling 156 mph before a crash that killed a woman and her dog, sources told the I-Team on Wednesday.

In court, prosecutors said his blood-alcohol level was two times above the legal limit.

Ruggs was in court Wednesday morning facing charges connected to Tuesday morning’s fatal crash.

Tina Tintor, 23, of Las Vegas, died in the crash, a police report said. Ruggs and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Rudy Washington, were seriously injured. Police listed her name as Kiara Je’nai Kilgo-Washington, 22.

Citing the police, Charns says Ruggs rear-ended the victim’s car. Ian Rapoport adds that Ruggs is facing 2 to 20 years in jail if convicted.

One day you’re an NFL receiver, a first round draft pick. Next, you’re in jail, you killed a person, and your career is over. Just an absolutely ridiculous story. An avoidable accident and a needless death.
