I Almost Feel Bad For the Cowboys’ Radio Team After They Had to Witness Another Meltdown Against the Cardinals

The Eagles’ season is basically lost, so now we’re gonna have to focus more on what players and coaches can help this team in the future. I’ll still tune in every week, hope for a win, and pray there’s still at least a few more Merrill gems left this season. But it’s looking bleak.
The one thing I don’t get tired of is watching rival teams fail. I was radicalized a few years ago when I was just trying to talk ball on the timeline and was inundated with the trolls I’ve now become so used to. I quickly figured out social media is rarely the place to have nuanced discussion about anything no matter how hard you try, and this was my natural reaction to that. I still think it’s wild how some people can’t handle it and take it too far, but hate-watching sports rivals has become one of social media’s greatest pastimes. Eagles fans should know given the discourse that’s surrounded Jalen Hurts for years now.
It’s why even if the Eagles are clearly not in position to make a playoff run, I’ll still tune in to hate-watch. With the Eagles playing at 8:20 on a Sunday night and the Cowboys playing at 1 p.m., it made it fairly easy this week. What made it even better was the Cowboys taking a 24-10 lead against the Arizona Cardinals – in the fourth quarter – at home – and eventually blowing it. Here’s how it sounded on Cowboys radio with Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg on the call-
Time stamps:
- 0:06 – Tyler Allgeier 52-yard run
- 1:00 – Allgeier converts 3rd and 2
- 1:40 – Allgeier TD to make it 24-16 (eventually 17)
- 2:11 – Trey McBride TD to make it 27-23 (eventually 24)
- 3:09 – Cardinals last-minute 4th quarter drive ending in TD to tie it 30-30 (Cardinals miss XP)
- 6:13 – Cardinals sack Dak Prescott on 3rd and 8 in OT (Josh Sweat sighting!)
- 6:50 – Cardinals convert 3rd and 1 in OT
- 7:13 – Allgeier with another first down in OT
- 7:31 – CARDINALS WIN LMAOOOO
The Eagles have had their fair share of issues with the Cardinals over the years. It’s almost like we were watching the Birds out there. Respect to the Cowboys fans out there who understand how bad their team is – much like the Eagles fans who understand how bad the Eagles are. It’s almost like we can commiserate dealing with the same thing at the same time. The Giants? Nobody’s afraid of them. We’re all waiting for their eventual collapse. The Commanders? lol. The NFC East is better when they have at least one good team. But when they have four bad ones? Yikes.
