If Eagles Fans are “the Worst,” then Explain Why this One Rescued a Child from the Hersheypark Monorail

You’ve probably seen the video of the Eagles fan rescuing the child from the Hersheypark monorail, but if you admirably went off the grid during the holiday weekend, here you go:

Not sure what the New York Post is talking about because the monorail is not “100 feet” in the air, but as a mentor once told me, “never let the facts get in the way of a good story.”

Action News had a writeup on this one:

You might call him the Hersheypark hero, but John Sampson, a father from Bucks County, says he was simply in the right place at the right time.

“I just think I’m a guy who, once again, right place, right time, saw a child in need and wanted to help,” said Sampson, of Jamison, Pennsylvania.

Sampson said the heart-stopping moment was over as quickly as it began. “I just went into rescue mode,” he said. “I didn’t hear any of the other screaming because I was just really trying to find a way to get to the top of the building in order to help.”

If Eagles fans are supposedly the worst in the world, then how do you explain this one? Huh? HUH? If this was Hersheypark: Dallas, Cowboys fans would have been fighting each other on the ground while the little boy walked around aimlessly on the monorail. If this was San Francisco, they would have been stabbing each other in the food court, again oblivious to the plight of the child. If this was New York, the Giants fans would have been trying to burn a Daniel Jones jersey using PAM cooking spray.

Alas, this Eagles fan did the right thing, as expected. John Sampson is a hero. I wanna talk to Sampson!
