It’s Funny When 94 WIP Does a Special Week for Topics They Already Talk About Every Day
It’s DECISION WEEK on 94 WIP:
Look, it’s barren out there. It’s gonna be a rough couple of weeks for those of us in the useless profession of Philadelphia sports writing. No Eagles, no Flyers, no Phillies. What are we supposed to talk about, the Sixers? <rimshot>
But this shit will never not be funny. Every time WIP does a branded week, it’s stuff they already talk about every day. They only really talk about three topics anyway. It’s the Eagles, the Phillies, and then all of the Eagles and Phillies who should be traded, cut, or fired. Then Spike will talk about the Sixers for a little bit while Brodes gets his 60 seconds to excoriate the Flyers and then we’re rinsing and repeating all the way to the bank.
Let’s run through the topics for DECISION WEEK:
- Trade A.J. Brown? – They’ve been talking about this for two years. They stirred up so much shit and it got so bad that A.J. called up Ike Reese and Jack Fritz, then the Birds went on to win a ring 12 months later.
- Jalen extension / draft a QB? – Same thing. Every day is a referendum on the quarterback. You may recall Spike and Ike getting into an argument the day after Hurts won Super Bowl MVP. Hilarious.
- Sirianni hot seat? – Is the Eagles coach on the hot seat? Wow! This is a brand new topic for Philadelphia sports talk radio.
It’s so good. They do this every day and then brand it like it’s something special. It would be like Crossing Broad debuting “stupid fucking blog post week” with a special graphic. It would be like NBC Sports Philadelphia coming out with “Flyers and Sixers week” and giving us a graphic of the next few hockey and basketball games they’re gonna show on TV.
(Of course, everything is a bit and nothing is to be taken seriously)
*by the way, I forgot to do the fall ratings post, if anybody at either station wants to leak the numbers, just call or text
