Jake Elliott Has the Second-Worst Field Goal Percentage Among Qualified NFL Kickers
Jake Elliott missed three field goals on Saturday evening, though only two went into the box score.
He missed from 43 yards in the first quarter, then hooked a 57-yarder that was wiped out due to a penalty. That resulted in a 52-yarder that he also missed left. Not the easiest kicks in the world, 50+ outside in December, but kicks that he’s made over the course of his storied Eagles career.
Now he’s second-worst in field goal percentage among qualified NFL kickers in 2025 (at least one FGA per game) –

For context, all seven of Elliott’s misses are from 40+. He’s hit everything inside of 40 yards, which amounts to 7 for 7, but most kickers are now hitting those with relative ease.
The Eagles do have one of the league’s better fourth down conversion percentages, which helps explain why Elliott’s FGM average distance of of 41.6 yards is inside the top five. They usually send him out there for longer attempts, but we’re in a league now where guys have big legs and they’re hitting from 50+ like it’s nothing.
Jake is 50% from 50+, and 4-8 on the season, while Brandon Aubrey, Ka’imi Fairbairn, Jason Meyers, Joey Slye, Chase McLaughlin, and Will Reichard are all better than 50% with at least 10 attempts from 50+. They’re kicking from longer distances on average but also converting at a higher percentage. Maybe those Elliott numbers would be different if he had the benefit of playing home games in a climate-controlled turf environment, but he does have misses this year in LA and Minnesota.
Elliott’s FG% is, unsurprisingly, the lowest of his career. He was 77.8% in the 2024 regular season, then rallied for a strong playoff performance, hitting 10 of 11 and really showing up in the Green Bay and LA games. But he’s been a liability recently and it might be them burned in this postseason.
