Probably the best soundbite takeaway from Sunday’s win:

“We were learning their snaps. We had a lot of fans out there, so it was loud and so they had a little hand movement on the snap. It was really like the second time they threw it.. I used that to get off faster.”

The traveling Eagles fans were loud on television. It was a little difficult to tell how much of the stadium they filled, at least until those good crowd shots towards the end of the game (after the one Reddick sack), but no doubt the volume level was noticeable. We do the jokes about Birds fans filling up other teams’ stadiums, but it really does provide a huge on-field advantage. I’m not sure anybody travels the way Eagles fans do. You’ll have Dallas and San Fran and Pittsburgh fans at road games, but a good portion of them are local posers. The Birds fans you see on the road either flew out from Philly or they’re Delaware Valley expats. There’s a huge difference. One group is authentic and the other is fake.
