Jalen Carter Says He’s Playing in Tennessee

Jalen Carter injured his right wrist against Washington in Week 1, while trying to punch the ball out of Terry McLaurin’s hands in the fourth quarter:

The bum wrist kept him out of practice until Thursday, when the All-Pro defensive tackle returned as a limited participant. None of that sounds that great, but according to the man himself, it’s not going to stop him from suiting up on Sunday against the Titans:

“Is it a problem? No, I’m fine, I can wear anything. You know, just uh, minor adjustments. I’m still out there practicing… It feels good. Good treatment in there, you know, the guys, they treat me right in there. Just getting me ready for the game… I feel good. I’m playing this week. That’s the main thing right now.“

Hell yeah. This is what’s up. That helps. It probably goes without saying, but having Jalen Carter on the field will be huge on Sunday, even if he is banged up. Tennessee’s offensive line isn’t all that great (26th in the NFL, according to ESPN’s rankings) which means it could be a big day for Jalen, cast or no cast. His primary matchup will be right guard Fernando Carmona Jr., who’s a rookie. Sure seems like Jalen might cook in this game. Got a good feeling.

Especially if he’s wearing a big club. Always seemed to me that the big club could be an advantage:

Looks Jalen’s going with the regular white cast from grade school for now:

Either way, whether he goes with the club cast or the regular white cast that felt weird/rigid to write on with a Sharpie while signing it in grade school, it’s good to hear Jalen say he’s playing. Good news here.
