No one expected Jalen Hurts to come close to his franchise record of 305 training camp throws without an interception, set last year. How could you? It’s like thinking Saquon is going to rattle off another 2,000 yards this season. These are records that are going to be etched into Eagles lore for eternity. You can’t tell the story of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl season without mentioning both. When Hurts is in Canton they’re still going to be whispering about that 2024 training camp because there was nothing quite like it. Still, I didn’t think it’d be only 63 training camp throws before he’d throw an interception. I’d argue most Eagles fans you’d poll would say he’d reach at least 100 reps coming off a Super Bowl MVP season, right? Well now he’s back to zero after Quinyon Mitchell picked him off today:

What does this mean for the season? Is Hurts elite? Should the Mormon Missile start warming that arm up? Everyone at ESPN is going to need a new pair of shorts like that Yankees fan from this weekend once they get the news. Why? Because Jalen Hurts needs to be perfect. He’ll be the first one to tell you that. It doesn’t matter what JJ Watt says. Training camp stats matter to Super Bowl MVPs. And no one is more pissed off at themselves than Jalen is.

That must be why he’s getting in his guy’s ears on Monday/ Only perfect practice makes perfect:

I wish we had video, but the Eagles keep NovaCare secure like it’s Fort Knox. Instead we have to hear about it second hand like it’s a note from a Civil War battlefield.

Our dearest Eagles fan, I regret to inform you that General Hurts has taken on an enemy fire and thrown an interception. Will report back indubitably.

You see what they want you to see. From ESP’s tweet above it feels like you can gather that it was Hurts’ fault. But good news is we’re back. Iron sharpens iron, baby:
