Jalen Hurts Threw for 326 Yards and Three Touchdowns After Burger King Howard Eskin Called for Tanner McKee to Start

If you had the misfortune of seeing Burger King Howard Eskin on your social media feed last week, he was calling for Tanner McKee to start over Jalen Hurts.
Not only did Hurts throw for 326 yards and three touchdowns in Minnesota, finishing with a perfect QB rating, but Eskin claimed that he never called for McKee to start, even though it’s on video:
lol
Nailed it.
Here’s the quote from Dan Sileo’s show:
“I don’t think the best quarterback on this football team is starting right now… I think Tanner McKee, right now, should be the starter. Everybody blames the offensive coordinator. You can only do so much when the player can’t execute those plays. You look at the breakdowns, and Brian Baldinger does a good job, he breaks it down and you see so many guys that Jalen Hurts, for whatever reason, I don’t know what it is, that he’s not picking up open receivers, not going through open progressions. He’s not Baker Mayfield in that regard. He’s not (Matt) Stafford in that regard. He’s not Jared Goff in that regard. Cam Newton, who I think is an idiot, he said last week he doesn’t think Jalen Hurts is in the top 15. I’m not gonna go that far. But all these people in Philadelphia, people are gonna jump all over me and make me look like the bad guy…
The reality is that he’s just not making the progressions. Is Tanner McKee as athletic? I’ve watched Tanner McKee in camp, he’s got a great arm, he’s not as athletic so he’s not gonna do the RPOs, but Jalen’s not doing that now because teams are defending against that. He scrambles when he should be passing. Tanner McKee can make the progressions, he’s a really sharp guy, again, people are gonna think I’m crazy to say, right now, he’s a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts.”
Good take by The King!
