Jay Williams Criticizing Mount Rushmore is an Act of Aggression Towards Philadelphia Sports Media

This is the most random thing I’ve seen this week, but here’s Jay Williams on First Take criticizing the Mount Rushmore topic:

Williams:
“Can we first off just stop with the Mount Rushmore talk? They’re not even the four best presidents this country has ever had. Everyone in this room was not even able to vote. I just want to say that off the top. That’s our metric for success? That’s our king?”
Hmm.. okay. Never really thought of it that way, since it’s just a metaphor. It took on a life of its own. Don’t think anybody is actively downplaying the fight for women’s suffrage when talking about the best four NBA players of all time. And determining the top presidents in American history is subjective, of course. If it was up to Nick Adams, for instance, he’d carve four Trump heads into the mountain.
What Williams says about Mount Rushmore could be an act of aggression towards Philadelphia sports media. The topic is a staple and cancellation would not be ideal. Next thing you know, Kid Rock is whipping out his machine gun again in protest. Maybe you bring the black tarp to South Dakota and give Mount Rushmore the Kate Smith treatment. Who knows what the libs are plotting! (only half joking)
Is Mount Rushmore PROBLEMATIC? 610-632-0975. You tell me.
