Right, so we don’t give a shit about the Jets or Panthers, but this pretty much confirms that New York is going QB at #2 in the draft, and would rule out Carolina from doing the same at #8 overall.
We can now safely assume it’ll be a 1/2/3 of Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and whichever quarterback the 49ers like best. Then you’ve got the Falcons sitting there at four with plenty of options, while the Lions and Broncos pick 7th and 9th.
This doesn’t necessarily change much for the Eagles, other than making the 8th pick interesting. There’s always the possibility of somebody trading out of the top ten, another team comes in, and then you get this historic early QB run, which pushes other players down the board. Like we mentioned earlier, the Eagles would then be guaranteed one of Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons, Patrick Surtain, Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith, Jaycee Horn, or Caleb Farley.
Fun draft so far, and it didn’t even begin. The wheeling and dealing has been entertaining.
Also, not that any Eagles fans care, but Sam Darnold will look infinitely better playing for Matt Rhule. That’s a stone cold, lead pipe LOCK.
