Justin Herbert Broke a Bone in his Non-Throwing Hand
News ahead of Eagles/Chargers on Monday Night Football:
Herbert missed about half a drive on Sunday but came back to throw for a total of 151 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick in a 31-14 home win against the Raiders. Vegas is pretty bad, but Herbert toughed it out and led four second half scoring drives.
There’s a full week between now and Monday. Game is in LA, so a home game for the Eagles. If Herbert can’t go, it’ll be Trey Lance vs. the Birds in a battle of 8-4 teams. What could possibly go wrong!
We don’t have any physicians on the staff at Crossing Broad, but presumably Herbert’s status will be determined by how vulnerable the left hand is, post-surgery. He doesn’t throw with it, but he needs to be able to receive a snap and hold the ball with two hands. Wrap + glove might be enough protection, but we’ll find out soon enough.
