E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagle! Eagle! Eagle! So he spelled it correctly, but said the singular version while repeating it three times. Feels like he mixed the Eagles and Jets chants together. This is the only clip floating around out there, so the context is lacking, but damn, I’m kind of pumped. There was a lot of energy in that. We could find out more (did he lose a bet? was he coked up?), but that would mean we’d have to watch the national television hot take show that he said it on, so that’s a no-go.
What’s important is that Irvin did a better job than Chuck from Mt. Airy:
E-A-E-E-E-S. Eagles! And the lady from the news, who spelled it E-L-G-S-E-L.
