The Giants have a bye this week but they benched Daniel Jones for Tommy Cutlets. The Cowboys, meantime, lost Dak for the season and play on Monday night with Cooper Rush expected to start for the second week in a row. That means:

Could it be? Cooper Rush vs. Tommy DeVito on Thanksgiving Day? If the matchup was tomorrow, then yes, it would be the greatest clash of quarterbacks this country has ever seen. One guy hasn’t thrown a pass this season and the other got his doors blown off last week, facing the impossible task of defeating the Eagles defense and the Jerry World sun glare at the same time.

Thing is, the Cowboys still have to get through Houston and Washington, and the Giants still have to play Tampa. So there’s a chance that Rush is benched for Trey Lance, and/or becomes injured himself. DeVito may be so horrible that he makes one start and then the G-Men turn back to Jones. It’s unlikely, since they’re giving him another look here before he becomes an exclusive rights free agent, but you never know.

What’s funny is that the Detroit Lions have been bringing down Thanksgiving for years. Now they’re saving it because they are ELECTRIC. What a team. It’s Lions/Bears at 12:30 p.m., then Giants/Cowboys aka the Butt Bowl, at 4:30 p.m., then we cap it off with Packers/Dolphins in an okay game that we thought would probably be better.
