Nate Sudfeld signed his second-round tender and will back up Carson Wentz in 2019, according to Pro Football Talk:

Sudfeld, the backup to Carson Wentz in Philadelphia, signed his second-round restricted free agent tender and will participate in the start of the team’s offseason program, a league source tells PFT.

He was a RFA this offseason, meaning that he was able to negotiate with other teams. The Eagles would then be given the option to match any deal made to Sudfeld, and if they decided not to act, they would have received a second-round draft pick instead. That’s what the second-round “tender” means. His salary, based on that tender, will be about $3 million this year, according to Over the Cap.

Sudfeld was a 6th round draft pick in 2016, then the Redskins waived him after his rookie year. He signed to the Eagles’ practice squad and made his NFL debut in the 2017 season finale with Dallas, completing 19 of 23 passes for 134 yards in a meaningless 6-0 loss.
