NFL news about 24 hours from the draft:

We’re doing the QB shuffle here and trying to find out how these trades will affect the Eagles.

Right now, the Panthers pick 8th, the Broncos pick 9th, and the Eagles pick 12th. Carolina went out and traded for Sam Darnold in early April, which meant that the Jaguars and Jets would both take a quarterback at #1 and #2 overall. The Niners trading up then made it a 1-2-3 thing.

The question is whether or not Darnold and Bridgewater being moved influences Carolina and Denver’s thought of also drafting a QB. If we know three QBs are going right off the bat, there’s the possibility of Mac Jones, Trey Lance, and/or Justin Fields being there at 8 or 9. If four quarterbacks go in the top nine, it means the Eagles get their pick of one of the top eight guys playing all of the other positions combined. Patrick Surtain, DeVonta Smith, Jaycee Horn, etc. On the flipside, if Denver and Carolina like their new quarterback situations, they could take someone else or trade out of the top 10 entirely.

Interesting stuff. It’s been a fun draft so far, and it hasn’t even started. Regardless of what happens between #1 and #11 tomorrow night, the Eagles are going to benefit from an early QB run that pushes talented players further down the board.
