NFL Fines a Couple of Players for Violating COVID Protocols

Let’s get it back to the NFL.
This week the league fined a couple of players for violating COVID protocols at training camp, both with the Buffalo Bills.
The first was receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who went on Twitter and shared the letter he was sent:
McKenzie left his email address public on that letter. Whoops. He’s probably getting blasted right now.
Cole Beasley quoted McKenzie’s tweet, writing the following:
“Don’t worry they got me too. But I was wearing a mask when I was in close contact with fully vaxxed trainer who tested positive and still got sent home. So what’s the point of the mask anyways? Meanwhile I’m here still testing negative and can’t come back. Make it make sense.”
Beasley then proceeded to argue with blue checkmarks in his Twitter replies.
Reporter Tom Pelissero later said that the fines amounted to $14,650 for each player, but that they are “now subject to increased discipline for a repeat violation — including for conduct detrimental with a maximum fine of one week’s salary and/or 4-game unpaid suspension.” And ESPN notes that 81% of Buffalo’s roster is vaccinated, according to head coach Sean McDermott. They placed three players on the COVID list due to positive preseason tests, including a starting lineman who ended up in the hospital for a few days.
Thankfully, the Eagles have mostly been able to avoid any sort of COVID nonsense. Just a couple of guys on the list early in camp.
