Nick Foles Wants Jalen Hurts to Get the Ball Out Faster
Nick Foles broke down some of the Jalen Hurts film from Sunday’s loss. He wants to see QB1 play faster:
The all-22 for this game is really interesting. There were a lot of plays on Sunday where you were sitting there wondering if anybody was open downfield. That’s nearly impossible to determine in a live setting unless the broadcast shows the back angle during a replay.
For context, Hurts was without DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Lane Johnson in this game. Saquon Barkley left in the first quarter. No WR1, no TE1, no RB1, no RT1. That’s rough, and you’d think it would make him play a different game with less confidence in his pass catchers. But it does look like he had some opportunities to let it rip and hesitated instead. Nick points out that Case Keenum killed the Birds just last week with quick releases and assertive decisions.
Nick’s podcast is good, by the way. He communicates these things well and it’s not super-dense film guy stuff. It’s easy to digest.
