Nick Sirianni sat down with Ari Meirov and Doug Kyed from Pro Football Focus to talk about why he has draft prospects shooting hoops:

Here’s the full 15 minute interview where they talk about how the Eagles evaluate prospects in 20 minutes, how much more potential Jalen Hurts has, dealing Gardner Minshew, and comparing Jason Kelce to Phillip Rivers:

I love Nick Sirianni’s “why” behind everything.

As I wrote yesterday: Rock, paper, scissors brought us guys who are building blocks for the future. If Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni can continue the success they had in 2020, I don’t care if Nick is arm wrestling Bryce Young next year. I just want a team competing for the Super Bowl every year like all Eagles fans do. Nick Sirianni might not be regarded as an offensive genius, but he’s a genius at connecting with players, which goes a long way. He’s the guy you turn to your wife in the car about coming home from a party and say, “You know what, I like that Nick guy.” Dudes will find an extra gear in the 4th quarter for the coach or team if they like each other.

I’ll always enjoy how open and honest Nick Sirianni is, and I feel like we’ve gotten that from most of our GMs or coaches in Philadelphia. Daryl Morey is opening up on 97.5 The Fanatic during the trade deadline, Chuck Fletcher is on calls with Flyer’s season ticket holders, and Dave Dombrowski laid out his plan for the Phillies rebuild at the first press conference. It’s a breath of fresh air from the Andy Reid and Chip Kelly days when the NovaCare Complex was more secretive than Fort Knox.

P.S. He’s also told that story about Gardner Minshew and him playing ball shirtless so much that I think we need the Colts to leak the security footage.
