Not Sure About You, But After Looking at the Eagles Schedule I’ve Got ‘Em Going 17-0

Today is one of the greatest days in sports media. It’s win/loss football day, where we go game-by-game through the NFL schedule and determine what record the Eagles will finish with:
Let’s go through it.
I’ve got:
- vs. Cowboys – win
- at Chiefs – win
- vs. Rams – win
- at Bucs – win
- vs. Broncos – win
- at Giants – easy win
- at Vikings – win
- vs. Giants – cakewalk of a win
- at Packers – win (they run the tush push on every play)
- vs. Lions – win
- at Cowboys – win, assuming Jerry fixes the sunglare in the building
- vs. Bears – win
- at Chargers – win (basically a home game)
- vs. Raiders – win
- at Commies – win
- at Bills – win
- vs. Commies – win
Go Birds!
But no, on a more serious note, this looks like a 12-5 type of schedule. Maybe 11-6. First, you have to figure that they’re not going to go on a ridiculous tear like they did last season. The win streak they put together happens once every 15-20 years. You lose a couple of defensive pieces and everybody gets a year older and it’s not a hot take to think they fall back to Earth a little bit in 2025. The possible losses stick out as KC, Green Bay, Tampa, Minnesota, Buffalo, Washington, and maybe at Dallas or home to Detroit. KC is the week 2 revenge game for them, Green Bay is the MNF road game, and that stupid early Tampa game seems like the obvious trip up spot. Minnesota/Buffalo are tricky road games, and then you figure they split with one or both of the Commies and Cowboys, depending on how week 18 looks and whether or not someone is resting their starters ahead of the playoffs. They’re not going 6-0 in the division.
So yeah, that feels reasonable. 12-5 or 11-6. Keep in mind, four of the eight division winners last year had 12 or fewer wins, so unless you think the Commies or Cowboys go on some tear this coming season, the Eagles can take a step back and still win the NFC East. At worst, they’ll be a wild card team. It feels like the 2025 post-Super Bowl Birds will be better than the 2018 post-Super Bowl Birds. For sure.
