One Bad Loss to the Cowboys and Now the Eagles Beats are Telling Each Other to “Shut Up” at Press Conferences
lmao we are so back:
That’s John McMullen of JAKIB telling somebody to shut up. I can’t tell who it is, but I THINK it’s Reuben Frank. Not 100% so don’t quote me on that. But whomever it was, they were annoyed that McMullen didn’t let Fangio “finish the question.”
The exchange:
Reporter: What led to – the D had the interception overturned by too many man on the field…
Fangio: Yeah, they subbed, which allows us to sub, and gave us time to sub. The umpire was actually going up to the line of scrimmage to hold up the play, for some reason didn’t, so that one I’m not sure really what happened there, but they subbed, so we should be able to sub, and we didn’t get off in time…
McMullen: When you’re… shut up –
Reporter: (let the guy) finish the answer…
McMullen: Dude –
(muffled people talking over each other)
I was selfishly hoping for more, but you have to take what you can get. Not every media kerfuffle can involve punching people in the face or getting tossed from the press box.
But on a more serious note, the Eagles media availabilities are typically a circus because there are so many people down at NovaCare. You gotta fight to get a question in, and that oftentimes results in beats trying to jump in immediately after a coach or player finishes answering because 17 other people are trying to get in a question also. Throw in a bad loss to the Cowboys and maybe everybody is on edge. Looks like Vic was having fun with it though.
The best remedy for all of this is to beat the absolute snot out of Da Bears on Friday.
