Pancakes to Continue with Jordan Mailata Contract Extension

Eagles locking up Jordan Mailata:
This just in: Eagles and LT Jordan Mailata reached agreement on a three-year, $66 million extension that includes $48 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus, per sources. The deal ties Mailata to Philadelphia through the 2028 season.

This is good. The left side of the offensive line is under contract through the next four seasons. Lane Johnson has a few more good years ahead of him, we think, and Cam Jurgens settles in at center or right guard. There’s really only one position of need along the offensive line, and Matt Hennessy and Tyler Steen are in the fold as well. I think you have to feel pretty good about the big boys up front, even after Jason Kelce’s retirement. The Eagles always prioritize the unit and take care of their guys.
Not sure about you, but I’m alright with the Birds drafting offensive line in the first round. I will never have an issue with that ever, with the caveat that if they do it this year, both 2nd round picks need to be defensive players. It’s too good of a cornerback draft to not come away with a Darius Slay/James Bradberry successor. Gimme CB, offensive line, and defensive line or LB with the first three selections.
