It’s gotta be so cool to be a world-famous athlete and entertainer, have $100 million in the bank, and get to travel all over the country watching NFL games for your job. Then there’s the counter argument that maybe being inconspicuous at your insurance job in middle management ain’t the worst gig either when you read stories like this. Here’s Jason Kelce getting some backlash on Instagram because he, get this, wished people a happy 4th of July –

Now of course everything you see in a comment section on social media has to be questioned. Are these bots deployed by the company trying to stir up controversy for engagement? Are these just troll farms commenting the same 4th of July thing under every famous person’s IG? They very well could be scenarios one and two, or these could just be insane people. That’s the crazy part. Some of these comments are probably living, breathing people walking the Earth among us who take a video of fireworks and turn it into their soapbox. Imagine this situation playing out in real life. You’re sitting there watching the fireworks, you’re sipping a cold beer, and thanking everyone who fought for your freedom that you can get drunk, have 10 burgers and dogs, do cannonballs, and drink a gazillion beers over a three-day weekend. Then there’s one miserable person around the group who just looks at you and tells you, “your privilege is showing.” You’d never want to hang out with that person again. If they were a family member you avoid them at all costs during the holidays.

Imagine getting upset at this video:

You can be angry at this place and still appreciate everything that contributed to this weekend. If anything I’m in the camp that’s been saying for years stop posting your fireworks videos. They all suck. We’ve all seen fireworks 100 different times in 100 different ways. It’s like posting concert footage. No one cares. We know the songs. We’ve got 4k in your face holy shit footage. I can go watch Black Sabbath’s set on YouTube if I want to see it with a better angle than anyone in Birmingham, England had. If it isn’t funnier than Terry trying to put it in reverse then keep it in the camera roll:

And you know what’s just as bad? The other side of the coin. The pendulum flipped so far the one way now people are trying to reverse it by thanking Kelce for “taking a stand for America.” It’s a fucking post about fireworks:

There was no opinion offered. Am I taking crazy pills?

And listen, I know there are things in this country that suck. I don’t like seeing people taken off the streets and having their healthcare slashed either, but you know who isn’t in charge of that? Former Eagles center and current ESPN analyst Jason Kelce. This guy understands we’re here for a good time, not a long time so you might as well enjoy it:
