Ranking Dallas Cowboys Playoff Losses from 2022 to 2024

Good morning, it’s a great day to be an American wherever you are.
With the Cowboys’ home loss to the Green Bay Packers, it’s now been 29 years since Dallas has made the NFC Championship Game. Back then, O.J. Simpson was on trial, eBay had just been created, and Zaire was still a country.
In recent years, Dallas has gotten it together during the regular season. Three straight 12-5 campaigns and two NFC East titles. Twice they’ve gone into the playoffs as a top three seed with a home game, and twice they’ve bottled it at Jerry World. For an important Monday morning exercise, we ranked their last three playoff exits in order of hilarity.
3. Packers 48, Cowboys 32 – home field chokers
Sunday’s loss comes in at number three.
It was amazing to watch Dallas choke, with Dak throwing a couple of interceptions and Green Bay marching up and down the field. The NFC East champs got run off their home field by a #7 seed with a first-year starter under center, and Dan Quinn’s much-heralded defense looked like a moldy piece of Swiss cheese in containment. It was a wonderful experience, but it lacked that big, singular moment, so we rank it thusly.

2. 49ers 23, Cowboys 17 – “the official gets in the way… the game’s over!”
Coming in at #2 is the Dak Prescott QB run and failed spike.
This was also the Wild Card round, and Dallas was down 23-7 in the fourth quarter before clawing back with a 51-yard field goal and then capitalizing on a Jimmy G turnover. With San Francisco up by 6, Deebo Samuel nearly ended the game on a running play that the Cowboys stopped just a few inches short, which resulted in a 4th and inches try that was negated by a false start. San Francisco punted to Dallas, who drove down the field with 32 seconds remaining, only for this to happen:
