More news.

Josina Anderson says the Eagles are adding a linebacker:

Looks like this might be a special teams/depth signing. That’s the role Nelson played for the Broncos this year before going on IR with a season-ending elbow injury.

He played five games and made four tackles in 44 defensive snaps. He played more than 100 special teams snaps. Nelson featured more in 2016, when he made 68 combined tackles in 16 games. The Birds might see him as a Najee Goode replacement, a ST/LB type who can fill in when necessary, though Nelson does play on the outside where Nigel Bradham and Mychal Kendricks operate. I doubt, however, that he’d be a long term replacement for either one. Bradham is a free agent.

Stats:

Nelson was a 7th round pick in the 2014 draft, coming out of Oklahoma.
