With the unexciting hiring of Doug Pederson now official, Dougie can start to assemble his own uninspiring staff. First up is his offensive coordinator, Frank Reich. Pederson and Reich, both former QBs, combined for 37 career starts in 23 combined seasons of football.

Reich, according to Ian Rapopopopopprt [Editor’s note: Ian Rappppppppopopoport], will be Pederson’s OC, coming over from San Diego. In Reich’s two years calling the offensive plays for the Chargers, they were top ten in passing yards (10th in 2014, 4th in 2015), but their rushing game was trash emoji (30th and 31st). It’s presumed that Reich will assume play-calling duties since he actually has a modicum of experience:

We knew this wasn’t a great football team, and when you’re turning the whole coaching staff around with Pederson, you’ve got two options: You can surround him with experienced guys to help him transition to the HC gig, or go the “peer” route and set up a staff of guys who can grow together. I kinda like the idea of giving some young (inexperienced) guys a chance here, but it has to be sloppy before it can be clean.
