I need to know how long Roob had this tucked away, patiently waiting in the weeds for the Pro Bowl rosters to be released so he could drop his little nugget about Jim Tyrer.

My favorite part might be Roob providing more context even after deleting the tweet:

It was quite a tragedy. He had some pretty bad financial problems with his business after football and killed his wife and himself, leaving behind a couple kids.

What a legend.

So, what business did  Jim Tyrer get into after retirement? Tires of course. That’s a no brainer with a last name like that (via his Wikipedia page) –

Remaining in the Kansas City area following his retirement, Tyrer turned down an opportunity to serve as a scout for the Chiefs. He then spent the next three years as a salesman before tiring of the constant travel and investing in a tire business. However, a mild winter proved to be financially disastrous for Tyrer, who moved on to work for Amway.

Didn’t Jim know there’s always money in the banana stand?
