Rick Spielman, the Vikings GM Who Laughed at the Eagles For Selecting Jalen Reagor, Talks Up Jalen Reagor

Remember Rick Spielman? He was the Vikings GM who laughed at us for picking Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. Well it turns out he liked Jalen Reagor too, and spoke about the topic on a recent Inside the Birds appearance:
Former #Vikings GM Rick Spielman said Jalen Reagor was among options for MIN before #Eagles took him.
"There was no question about his skill set."
He also talked trades w/Howie, Jon Gannon, LBs, analytics + more on #ITBTV w/@GeoffMosherNFL + @caplannfl:https://t.co/KN8mgtiWdX pic.twitter.com/gB98GAkJ0G

“The one thing that was really intriguing is that he added value as a kick off and punt returner as well.”
Oh yea?
Jalen Reagor, same Jalen Reagor that #Eagles took in the first round over Justin Jefferson, muffs a punt in the playoffs.#Bucs recover.pic.twitter.com/WFFjLY2z7p

Jalen Reagor's punt returns might possibly be a topic of conversation on Philly sports radio tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/USvqNkst4Q

Now somehow the guy that selected Justin Jefferson is the one without a job. Isn’t life fair? Listen, the NFL draft a lot of the time is a crapshoot. Rick Spielman is looked at in league circles as an above average drafter. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t fuck up. For every Stefon Diggs you draft in the 5th round there’s Laquon Treadwell in the 1st. He signed Adam Thielen as an UDFA, but he could’ve also been in the same position as the Eagles if Howie Roseman learned the Golden Rule a year earlier: “Draft SEC wideouts.” If you can take anything positive from that clip, Spielman mentioned that Reagor could still break out in year 3. I don’t see it, but he’s not the first one to say it:
Wait, you think Reagor is a bad receiver, wait until you see him next year & i can guarantee that, normally takes 3 years to put it all together & he will cause i know him. https://t.co/8Q0CteLSE7
