Sam Darnold Ruled Out Sunday Because His Spleen “Did Not Do What Darnold Wanted it to Do”

Not a shocker here, but the wording of this Ian Rapoport tweet made me laugh:
Not surprisingly, the #Jets have ruled QB Sam Darnold out for this week’s game. He got a lot of reps in practice, but the spleen did not do what Darnold wanted it to do. So, he waits.

The news was officially confirmed by the Jets, which means Luke Falk visits Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon. He’s struggled over the past two weeks, completing 32 of 47 passes for 296 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception in two games covering for Darnold. He has a 76.2 QB rating.
On the Birds’ side, Doug Pederson ruled out DeSean Jackson for a fourth straight game. Sidney Jones and Jason Peters are expected to play.
