San Francisco’s Record Without Trent Williams is Not Good
Rap Sheet has an update on Trent Williams’ status:
“Trent Williams, one of the best tackles of the last decade, maybe the best tackle of the last decade, I think it’s fair to say his status is in doubt…”
Ricky Pearsall is also a question mark for Sunday, and it goes without saying that if one or both of those guys can’t go, it’s a huge positive for the Eagles. Both were DNPs on Wednesday’s practice report.
We asked our in-house A.I. go through the Sportradar database and pull San Francisco’s win/loss records with and without Williams, who joined the team in 2020:
- with Williams: 61 wins, 32 losses, .656 win percentage
- without Williams: 4 wins, 13 losses, .235 win percentage
To get a little more granular, San Francisco is 0-5 in the last five games Williams has missed. That includes Week 18 this season in Seattle. He missed a bunch of games last season in which they went 1-6, the lone win coming against Chicago in Week 14. The caveat, however, for 2024, is that San Fran was totally wracked with injuries, so consider the breadth of the injury situation when thinking about these numbers.
