Saquon Barkley Ties Eagles (Modern Day) Franchise Record for 50+ Yard Rushes
Saquon Barkley ripped off a 65-yard touchdown on his first carry against the Giants Sunday afternoon, drawing even with Shady McCoy for the Eagles franchise record.
Here’s the all-time list from our Sportradar data, which goes back to 1991* –

Saquon and Shady. That’s good company.
For Barkley, six of those runs came last season, which really was incredible en route to a Super Bowl win.. If you look at the all-time stats across all 32 NFL teams, Barkley is now 4th all time, with 17 runs of 50+ yards. That puts him behind only Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, and Derrick Henry.
Looking at the other guys on the list above, Miles Sanders had three 50+ yard runs during the forgettable, four-win 2020 season, which makes his positioning on the list a little stealthy. Ricky Watters had two in 1996 while Brian Westbrook and Duuuuuuuuce Staley split theirs up between 1998 and 2006.
Funny enough, the New York Giants are a common theme here. Of the 41 runs on this list, 10 of them have come against the Giants. That’s almost 25%, and it includes three Shady runs and two Saquon runs.
*I’ll look around for data that goes into the 80s and further back. The statistic wasn’t logged until the early 90s, so we’d have to comb through individual game scores to pull numbers for guys like Steve Van Buren and Wilbert Montgomery. If you find it elsewhere, gimme a shout and we’ll add to the list.
